I was pretty impressed with the Save-A-Lot store that I visited. The produce looked very nice, as did the meat. Did you know that they sell bananas for .33¢ a pound every day? Just ridiculously low prices compared to other stores that I've shopped. Save-A-Lot's philosophy is really to help families eat food that's better for them, by offering it at lower prices. They even have a diabetic food section, and their own better-for-you line of food. Did you know that they name their store brands after long-time employees too? Wow. I want to be immortalized on a can of peaches.

Reader Kristin says: Just wanted to give you a heads up on using a coupon at JoAnn’s. I was in there yesterday and wanted to use a coupon on the only item I was purchasing. The cashier said “that is already on sale” and I told her that I would go get it at Hobby Lobby with the coupon then. She said “wait a minute, I will put it back to full price and let you use the coupon on it.” It was quite a saving for just saying something. What she told me is the cashiers are not allowed to tell you they can do that. You have to ask. It is not a written policy but the lady told me it was a regular practice! I was thrilled to find this out!

You throw the sheet in the washer and it is soap, then just leave it in with the wet clothes when they go in the dryer and it is fabric softener and static control. Thanks, Carrie!
