Do YOU have stinky little sweaty, sporty boys in your house? I am outnumbered I'm afraid. My husband is currently coaching the neighborhood rec center's preschool t-ball team with Luka as the star draw-in-the-dirt-in-the-outfield player.
Talk about the Three Stooges and the Keystone Cops all rolled into one. Most times when they come home, I practically need a gas mask to get that tiny little uniform into the laundry.
As far as big stinky boys go, Coach also plays handball pretty much everyday at the YMCA. Thus, I live with a big stockpile of Clorox (as I'm sure most of you do). Clorox will pretty much kill anything that stinks in those uniforms and handball shirts. Thank goodness. And, big stinky man usually does the stinky laundry himself. Thank goodness again.
Don't hate me because my husband does the laundry. And did I mention he also does all the ironing? I know. I'm a pretty princess. With ironed jeans.
Did you know that Clorox also kills off the bacteria that causes
MRSA? The extent of my knowledge of MRSA is from a quite frightful episode of
House. Ewwww. Flesh-eating bacteria. So now, not only am I washing stinky little uniforms in Clorox,
I'm wiping down the balls, the tee, the glove, the batting helmet with a Clorox and water mixture.
Oh yeah. No flesh-eating bacteria will be eating my Luka any time soon.
Seriously, this and other bacterias love to hang out in shared sports equipement, and other shared items like toys. To help get the word out about MRSA,
S.T.O.P. MRSA Now Coalition, Swap Me Sports, professional basketball star Grant Hill, who was affected by MRSA, and The Clorox Company are teaming up to educate families and coaches through
Equip Them Well, a program to help teach families and sports teams about practical MRSA prevention steps. Through the program, parents can also collect, disinfect and donate used youth sports equipment to communities in need.
Plus, each individual who enters the sweepstakes on
www.StopMRSAnow.org will score a chance to win a trip to Phoenix for a Suns game and an exclusive “meet-and-greet” with Grant Hill.
