Use one part of your body to save another.
The American Cancer Society is hosting Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walks all over the country this month, in an effort to fight Breast Cancer. How can simply walking do that?
Since 1993, 8 million walkers have raised $460 million to fund the end of breast cancer. Cancer survivors and supporters, and their families, are all banding together to use one part of their bodies to save another. This simple act of walking together is a way to empower survivors and their families, and for the rest of us to cheer them on, either in person or with our donations, to help those who are in the midst of breast cancer right now.
Me and my BFF Sheri. And Sheri's cancer-free cleavage.
The Making Strides Walk helps fund cutting-edge breast cancer research, support for women and their families going thru it, and mammograms for women who need them. You can walk yourself, or you can support a team from the sidelines or with a donation. You can even shop pink for some pink duds to wear this month.
Walks are happening in all 50 states during the month of October. Find the event near you in your state here.
Making Strides North Texas
The Making Strides Walk in North Texas is this Saturday October 6th at Lake Carolyn in Irving. So far, the North Texas Making Strides Walk has raised $99.000 in pledges with 300 teams and over 2000 walkers. The event is sponsored locally by some of my favorite companies to work with: Walmart, North Texas Chevy Dealers, and NBC 5.
Please consider going and walking with your feet, cheering with your voice, and donating with your heart to your local Making Strides Walk.
Use your feet to save a few breasts.
Making Strides Against Breast Cancer is the American Cancer Society's nationwide series of walking events to raise funds and awareness to end breast cancer.
